Newcastle Knights Mens 2022 Indigenous Jersey

Intricate circular artwork, flowing white lines and contrasting red patterns make the Newcastle Knights Mens 2022 Indigenous Jersey visually different from the club's regular rugby league shirts. Created for Indigenous Round 2022, the jersey features artwork by Worimi artist Gerard Black recognising the thirteen First Nations of north and north-western New South Wales.

The front displays an elaborate arrangement of red and blue artwork. Across the upper chest, curved red bands and dotted motifs surround the NRL Telstra Premiership emblem, Palmerbet branding and Newcastle Knights crest. A large green nib sponsor panel provides a strong contrast against the surrounding design.

Below the chest, white circular patterns and interconnected shapes extend across the blue body. Larger red curved elements frame the lower section, while royal blue sleeves with red cuffs complete the shirt's distinctive appearance.

The reverse presents a different arrangement of the artwork. Light and dark blue patterns cover the central back, with The University of Newcastle branding near the shoulders and red energy positioned below. A sequence of circular white motifs and red patterned bands runs around the lower portion.

Made from 100% polyester, the jersey features an antimicrobial and moisture-wicking finish, embroidered club and NRL logos, and sublimated artwork. Short sleeves and bound finishes provide the familiar construction of a rugby league jersey.

The design was worn for Newcastle's Indigenous Round match against the New Zealand Warriors on 28 May 2022. For supporters who follow the Knights across different NRL seasons, it offers a recognisable design associated with that particular fixture and its First Nations artwork.
